Gecko found in South Georgia

Today I was cleaning my mother's yard in Valdosta (which is about 20 mi. north of Fla. state line)and caught a small lizard on an old fence post. Thinking I had a small fence swift, I was quite surprised to see it was a small gecko- immoveable eyelids, brown mottled pattern against a light brown/grey skin, and covered with tiny, off-white nodules. Measures about 3.5 inches long. Any ideas?

After some research, it must be a Mediterranean (sp) gecko, probably a darker phase since all the pictures I've seen depict a much paler lizard. And it has already been documented in this area. So, we have geckos here. Cool!
