Has anyones Pipa's that bred seen any tadpoles or small frogs? Mine I expected would have tadpoles showing by now but the females skin is smooth, no sign that there was ever any eggs. Anybody have any idea? Will the tadpoles eventually show?

Did you witness the egg deposition? It's usually pretty obvious and the skin is far from smooth. I might guess that so far, breeding has been unsuccesfull.

Yes I saw breeding and eggs slowly sink into the females back, approx. 80 eggs. Now the skin appears smooth and I wonder if they were somehow absorbed. (just got back from vacation and saw your post to my question)

The skin never really appears smooth, but I guess I know what you're talking about.
Is there a big, thick fleshy pad on the frog's back? This is where the eggs would be if they were still present. Sometimes you can still see them through little window like holes in the skin.

I only have a single pipa, and don't have any first hand experience breeding them. Most of what I know about them is through researching them in books and online

I'ts smooth and the pad is gone. Maybe the eggs were infertile.

Could that eggs have been knocked off the back? An Indiana keeper had this problem. My frogs are currently in amplexus now, 15 hrs and counting. The soft patch is building on the female, hopefully she'll be ready to lay soon.
