Water for lizards

Hi
What kind of water should I use for Lizards? Can it be regular tap water? or do i have to boil it and maybe add something to it to make it safe?

Do you drink regular tap water? I know I don't. But then again here in So. Cal. we don't exactly have the cleanest tap water. I always give my HL's (all my animals for that matter) water from a brita filter. I just feel better about it versus tap water!
