Keeping a CWD Outside in the summer

hunterjackson Jul 21, 2006 01:09 PM

My large male enjoys going outside for short spurts, but hates it when he comes back inside. What bout keeping him outside? I have a great cage which is predator proof, large, etc. He could get all the natural sunlight he wants.

I am in Columbia, SC...and the high during this part of the year is about 95, gets down to low 80's to high 70's at night.

He has a large water pool in that cage etc.
Thanks!
Hunter

I guess maybe for a few hours, but I seriously wouldnt keep him out there all day and night. There really isnt such a thing as predator proof if you ask me. A raccoon can do serious damage to cages, plus they arent stupid and can figure a way into it. Also, your risking him eating a bad bug, such as a firefly, which would most likely kill your dragon the next day. Not only that, but if it rained unexpectantly... I would say just for a few hours a day, and make sure its half filtered... giving him a shady spot along with a sunny spot.
