argentine veggie feeding question

groundskeeper24 Jul 25, 2006 02:20 PM

I was wondering if it was okay to start introducing fruits and veggies gradually at 1 year of age. I've tried bananas, corn carrots, melon, grapes, blueberries and strawberries and he eats them all with no problem whatsoever. I was just making sure it's not too early. There have been no ill health effects and the guy is turning into an absolute monster.

no its not to early. they can eat it as hatchlings.

That's great. keep doing what you're doing.

Question -- on the days you offer fruits & vegetables, do you offer only the fruits & vegetables as the meal or do you combine them with rodents, insects, meat, etc.?

most of the time I combine them. I've messed around feeding them exclusively on a couple of days just to see if he'd take them and he did. I usuallly mix them with either canned monitor diet, turkey or feed them after giving some insects. I'm not feeding a lot of rodents right now. I've been told bugs are better when they're young. It's getting expensive, though.

yes bugs are great when young and as adults. too many rodents can lead to a fat tegu. if bugs are getting expensive e-mail me levianddezz@hotmail.com
