Hello, I'm stationed in korea right now and a friend gave me a couple of turtles that she bought here in korea, dont know if they're local, or imported. they arent that big right now, bout 3-4 inches in length, the shell is dark with light stripes in the center of the larger scales. the arms and neck are dark with thin yellow stipes. the top of the head is dark black. the bottom of the shell is mostly yellow with some darker spots. i could put a picture up, but im not sure how. thank you

Here's a link to a basic geographical search. Just click on the area where you think the turtles orginated. This is fairly basic. I could probably ID the turtle in just a few minutes if you posted a pic.

picture posting instructions - go to photo gallery up top, above the red gallery sign click log in, in same location click upload photos, upload the photos (you may need to downsize them), when you post a message a list of your photos will be at the bottom of the screen for you to choose from.

On that same website I sent a link for, you can search turtles by genus. Take a look at the Chinemys genus. I'm thinking that this may be a Reeve's turtle, Chinemys reevesii.

You have an Ocadia sinensis, Chinese thread turtle.

yep, thats exactly what it looks like, thanks a lot. are they common in the states? im new to turtles, ive always had lizards and snakes. i feel bad cause theres no way to get ahold of a tank large enough for these guys adult size, what they're in is good for em now cause they're tiny. ill have to see if there is any way for me to bring them back to the states with me when i transfer back to arizona. thanks a lot.
