Hi,
Was wondering if anyone can tell me of a very good book to get on horny toads and where to get it at? Im in Florida where the humidity is already high and the weather is hot. Ive had 1 horny toad before but he got stressed from shipping from the supplier. Also had recently bought 2 breeding pairs but lost my females after they laid there eggs. I dont think the supplier knew they were gravid. I would love to get more again but am afraid of them dying too. Also what else can they have in there diet besides crickets and harvester ants? Sorry for all the?????'s

There are three books available about horned lizards that are current.

Introduction to the Horned Lizards of North America
Wade C. Sherbrooke
California Natural History Guide
ISBN 0-520-22827-8

Horned Lizards
The Book of Horny Toads
Jane Manaster
Texas Tech University Press
ISBN 0-89672-495-6

Krotenechsen
Lebensweise, Pflege, Zucht
Bertrand Baur and Richard R. Montanucci
Herpeton
ISBN 3-9802892-8-1

The last one is a little difficult if you are not fluent in Swiss-German. All are excellent resource materials.
