i have a young frillie that has been sick for a while but is now recooperating. he had some problems with his eyes and wouldnt open them for 3 weeks. i took him to the vet and got meds and now his eyes are fine. in those three weeks i syringe fed him. now he is eating crickets on his own again. i noticed today though that his neck looks as if it was swollen...more like it has liquid in it. its soft but makes his frills open up slightly. kinda confusing but i dont know how to explain it. i noticed the same thing happen when the vet injected him with some vitamins. i dont know. has this ever happened to anyone?

it went away already. it looks like fluid sacks one on each side of his neck under his frills. if it happens again i will take pictures and post them.

It could be some od form of calcium deficiency. Are you supplimenting him with anything? if so what? What kind of UV if any does he have? I use rep-cal, herptivite and zoomed reptisun 10.0. He also gets natural sunlight several times a week. If he is imported it could be lots of other things.

Hope i could help,
Andrew

well, I went and looked behind my frillies frill and noticed there is a lot of loose skin back there. yours does look swolen, and it doesnt look like anything i have ever seen. I would not worry about it too much as it doesnt look to bad. as long as he is eating and stuff, he should be ok. If anything in his behavior changes, take him to the vet.

Nice looking animal. where did you get it?

good luck,
Andrew

Ya know, it almost looks like fat deposits. you lizard is nice and fat, so it may just be a place he can store excess fat.

maybe it was fat...maybe it was something else. he was actually quite thin. unfortunately he passed away monday night. thank you for the help though...i appreciate somebody answering.
