I have a 2 year old soft shell turtle, Bubbles. He has always been active and healthy, but lately he is not eating and is not swimming around, he just kinda floats around now. He has also developed some dark spots on his shell that were not there before. My boyfriend seems to think it has something to do with the filter, we recently moved him into a larger tank and bought a new filter of course, the charcoal filter was not keeping the water clean so I put the polisher filter in, which keeps the water very clear, could that have something to do with it? I could really use some help.

Thanks

Sounds like a possible infection of some sort. You should really get him to a vet for an evaluation.

What is the depth of the water in the new tank? Is the water level higher in the new tank than it was previously? Are you providing a sand substrate? Think about what you were doing previously that you are not doing now and make those adjustments back to what worked.
