Rex does have quite an amazing collection of ratsnakes.
Congrats
John
Nice looking pair, Randy. Glad to see you getting some of the smaller species. Rex does have some great snakes. Did you see any of his others, like the Japanese forest rats?
Terry
Thanks. Rex also had Vaillanti. They were sweet. My friend is getting a pair and yes I am jealous.
There were also a couple people selling Barons Green Racers which are wicked. They look like a cross between a prasina and a rino rat. I was going to get a pair but I didn't sell enough at the show.
Karl K. had several moellendorffi yearlings which another friend of mine got a pair of. Yes I was jealous again.
Well there is always next year. Later, Randy W.

Yeah, Rex does very well with the porphyracea and other small Asians. I'm still plunking away with bimaculata and dione. I still have a few situla too, which may be up to breeding size by next spring. Karl always has a few interesting things at those shows. We don't hear much about moellendorffi anymore.
Randy, I've been wracking my brain and can't remember where I've heard the term, baroni, but I think I have. What's a "Baron's green racer?" Is that some type of oxycephalus? Did you get a pic? Anyway, just curious. Got to be a species we already know.
Sorry I couldn't make the show. Spent a lot of time in AZ this summer, almost bought a house (only nine months 'til retirement), then did a gig in KY. Just not enough time. Maybe next year. Glad you guys had a good time, but ya' gotta keep the dinner goin'. Take charge, mon...haha! TC.
I think they are philodryas baroni. Look up Doug Taylor reptiles and he has some good pics of them.
Waiting on you get the rat snake dinners started again. Now you have to come next year. Later, Randy
Ok, Randy. I got it now. I knew I'd seen that name somewhere. I actually have some photos of that species. They are pretty cool, although I'm not sure why they call them racers. Could just as well call them ratsnakes, couldn't ya? I believe those are rear-fanged too, are they not? Cool snakes anyway.
I might be able to make it next year to Daytona, if I'm not in AZ at that time. I won't have to worry about work, because I'm retiring next June....heheh. Later...Terry

Gotta love those matching green eyes. What's the going price on those?
DR
Thanks Dusty. They run $1000 to $1200 a pair for hatchlings. Randy
Randy, it was great hanging out with you and Rodney in Daytona! I do miss the old ratsnake dinners we used to have. Now get your buddy to post pics of his new acquisitions.
take it easy,
Glenn
I enjoyed it to. Maybe we can get the rat snake dinner going again next year.
I'll bug Rodney until he posts some pictures as soon as he gets his pair. Later, Randy W.
