I have 2 small (baby) soft shell turtles in my 55 gallon tank, ever since i put these turtles into the tank, my room started to smell like turtle, any advice on how to make them smell less, or there's nothing i can do about it? should i feed them less? how do you guys deal with the smell.

I do a complete water change often...every three days. And you can get a powerful filter, so you don't have to change the water as often as I am.

when u feed them, feed them in a quarantine thing. u could use anything, a rubber maid or an extra tank or the bathtub, whatever. it helps with food decaying. and invest in a good filter!! it really does keep the water cleaner. and do frequent water changes.

i used to have a problem with that smell, too. it smelled so gross.. i live in an apartment and could smell that turtley smell as soon as i walked in. . ick. but having a filter and feeding the turtle in a quarantine thing does help.

Get a Filstar XP3 and hook it up to that 55 gallon tank. The smell will go away and your turtles will be much healthier.
