Yes, your right, it won't eat for about a week, maybe longer. Is it on land yet?

Well he just got his arms bout 3 days ago I havent been feeding him n thats ok? He has a lil land but doesnt really go on it yet how will I know when to feed him again? Im going to start him on small rosie reds since he is a bull frog. But when to start thanks....ps His tail is still pretty long
Mike
i tried feeding mine rosey reds but it couldn't catch them, i would offer something else, they really like crix and will eat a lot of them. mine has been fully developed for about 3 months and i've seen it on land once, to eat. they are very spazy and (usually) when they see people they dive into the water for cover. i would suggest putting plants in, they seem to like it so half their body is submerged.
this is true, i also had (frog now) a american bullfrog tadpole, they start to eat when their front legs are developed. they will eat crickets and anything/everything that will fit in their mouths. contact me if you have any more questions. heres some pics of mine- she's albino.

HI, You said they eat when their front legs come, well mine has front legs but a very fish like mouth still I couldnt imajine feeding it live foods yet? I thoguht they dont eat until their tails are absorbed? lol im very confused
thanks for the help
Mike
i think its different for each tad, but a general rule is that when they have a "normal" (frog) mouth they can eat crix, that time is somewhere between when their arms are developed and when their tail is shrinking. srry for the confusion
