Hello everyone
i just acquired a very nice tall glass tank. a few years ago i kept in a green anole and a green treefrog in a similar tank and they thrived for a long time. I was thinking of doing the same thing except adding to the mix a house gecko and maybe a small day gecko what do you all think about this? all comments welcome

thanks

I have a book that says you can mix Long Tailed Skinks or Gold-Dust Day Gecko's or even Rough Green Snakes but I wouldn't like to say about any other species. American Green Tree Frogs are also supposedly compatible.

Remember that if your anoles are WC they often have difficulty adjusting to a CB environment, and in the wild they are pretty much solitary lizards so mixing them with another animal might sound OK but mixing them AND taking them out of their natural environment AND putting them in a container where they might not be able to get their own quiet time or establish their own territory can make things worse in a less than perfect environment.

In addition in the wild they move about and so are less exposed to parasites, keeping them in a container with other animals can increase their infestation, cause cross-contamination and overall have a less than ideal impact on your pet. Remember that some animals like frogs would need more humidity, therefore potential increase on the stress of your pet....there are many contributing factors, just make sure you read up on it before doing. I was thinking at one point of mixing my rough Green Snakes with my anoles but never did once I'd read up on it.

You're going to VERY hard pressed to find CB Anoles in the pet trade with any sort of regularity. There are simply not enough people keeping and breeding them to supply the publics demand for "cheap" lizards for their kids, so they are all just collected from the wilds of the south.

So this goes to show that it is a more complicated issue than would first appear.
