Where are you and do you have an idea of what species it is?

Bluntly speaking you will probably require more help understanding Horned Lizards than the Horned Lizard has time for.

I have found that most people who capture a reptile that is not eating, have already let some time expire before seeking help. This is not a good situation and most Horned Lizards die in this situation. My advise is that it should be let go if you care about it's life.

If you are interested in Horned Lizards, then study first and then get one. Without proper study and preparation you will kill it... I can almost guarantee it. Coming from experience and hearing this same story many times on these forums.

It must also be let go in the same place it was found. Where it knows the food sources, water, hides and specific climate.

What state are you in and have you looked at pictures to guess the species?

Very well. I can't break your arm, but take note that a Horned Lizard eats every day. You do not have long to kill him if he hasn't eaten. And if you weaken him too much, he won't make it if you let him go too late. Fall is approaching and it is getting close to hibernation time. What are you trying to feed it?
