info on new zealand sphagnum moss???

robertIII Sep 02, 2006 04:31 PM

So i was at one of the local pet stores today and i was admiring their frog cages. well i asked the guy about the beeding they use for their forg cages and he said they use new zealand sphagnum moss. he said it last a long time and continues to grow in the tank. naturally he said he had some, so i bought some. now my question is, i have a pacman frog and was wondering would this beeding be better for him then say the cube of i think coconut bar they sell at pet stores? also it came in dry form, do i have to do anything special or do i just mist it or soak it? and last does it need special lighting to grow? thnx for any help. i appreciate it.

Ok, from what I am understanding, you want to replace the coco bedding with the moss for a pacman. I would say no. The coco bedding is much much much easier on the frog's system when he inadvertantly swallows some, which, being that he is the type that jumps his food, will happen. I would rather be safe than sorry.
