What are you guys opinions about bedding for a Cal King? I've heard aspen and other things like that. But then I heard mulching is not recommended because it can get bacteria pretty easily. I have cage carpet in there right now but I kinda want to switch, and I don't want newspaper. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have aspen in right now and it seems to work well. Easy to clean and my Cal king likes to burrow around in it.

I would go with "carefresh" works great, Not nearly as harmful if the snake ingests any by mistake and wont compact your critters gut if he eats it with his mouse or rat.It is a By-product of the paper making process and is available almost
anywhere. good stuff although not as cheap as aspen but hey, what is your pets life worth to you??

try "ecoearth", which is compressed coconut fibers. five bucks at petco for a block that'll put a layer several inches thick in a ten gallon.
Aspen isn't as damp, and does work well for burrowing, so that is probably your best bet. make sure it's nice and deep.
