That still was from a scene in which he had chased the beardie down several times, getting in front of it each time for the shoot. Right after that still, is when the beardie jumps at Steve and bites him right on the nose...too classic!

Very nice pic. Steve never really grew up. We all saw that kid in him, and that is why he was so good.
I saw him on teh Best Damn Sports show, he brought out am indigo I think? And told the guys it was a cobra. Salley flew off the set so fast it was a riot. He hid behind the camera man.
Terri was there too, she was a riot too, when someone asked about their sex life. Both seemed to always be very honest and REAL people, unlike so many on TV.
I hope the Discovery Channel is 1 respectful; of the family and does something in their name. They certainly made a pile of money from Steve and Terri.
again

God is the architect to genetics. And just as we learn the building he has constructed, I think he adds a room on once in a while just to mess with us. He does like to laugh at us. It is so easy.
Thanks
Big Tom
I agree with you,I hope they do something in their name.
My oldest son, who is nearly 12 was very upset about it. He cried nearly the whole night. He is also afraid the zoo with shut down and that there will be another Crocodile Hunter.
I hope the Discovery channel keeps showing his shows. Tho I have a hard time watching them now, but I will again.
I hope people keep donating to the zoo and wildlife warriors, long after this devasting news has past.
And I know, there will never be another Crocodile Hunter again.
Steve was one in a million.
I know Terri will keep their dream alive!
God Bless
I totally love that pic of Steve, its fantastic.
He was just enjoying the beauty of the animal, and what he loved.
I never met him, and I am not in his field of work. But I do love animals, even the creepy crawlies
.
He did so much for animals and the environment. He was a great man. The world was a brighter place with him in it. I always thought it would be great to get into a line of work I loved and would be enthusiastic about.
I am in the teaching field, and I do enjoy it. So finally after some years of figuring out what I wanted to do, it happened. Steve lived his dream, and now I am too. Thank you Mr Irwin!
He touched so many lives, and if we were all a little bit like Steve, things would be much better. Not just his lovable, caring attitude about animals, but the way he was with people, the animals, the passion.
I must say, I am still getting teary eyed when I see him on AP, they do that little memorial clip of him saying how he would like to be remembered.
My heart aches, and my thougths and prayers are with Terri, Bindi Sue, little Bob, Bob, his sister and all his family and friends and his beloved animals.
We lost a great naturalist,an idol, and icon. But the Irwin family lost so much more.
My thoughts and prayers are with them.
I hope Steve is up there tho, smiling down on us and with his mum and his Sui.
CROCS RULE!
I remember that segment it was great! When I first saw the picture you posted. I thought it was a picture of Joseph Slowinski another herpetologist taken too young. Tomorrow it will be five years since he died.
