Does anyone in California have Russians?

AndrewFromSoCal Sep 11, 2006 12:55 PM

And if so, is it possible to keep them out year around if they have a heat regulated house, or is it still necessary to keep them inside in the 'winter' we never have.

I'm way down south, about an hour in between both San Diego, and Los Angeles, so the weather is pretty warm most of the year, and we get VERY little rain.

I am in Orange County and I leave mine out year round. They are fine with the temps here, but they can't be cold and wet. These are very cold hardy so they don't need a heated house, just some place to get out of the sun or rain. Mine hibernate and breed every year.

Yeah, no additoional heat required, all year 'round.

Belarus and Uzbekistan have a similar climate to most of California.

I have a russian but i keep him inside cause we have those huge nasty fire ants out back, otherwise he'd be out there during the day.
