can anyone please help me? i have a water dragon that is about a year old. he has been in his cage in the bathroom since we got him. his cage is too small now and we are trying to get him settled in a new larger one that will be kept in another area of our house. we tried putting him in the new cage, but he became very lethargic change to a very grey brown color and stopped eating. we kept him there for about 3 days but didn't want him to die, so we put him back in the old cage. we tried moving the old cage to the new area with the same results. has anyone else gone through this? what else can we do, to make this transition.

Often when you make changes to the cage or to where the cage is, it can "upset" a lizard. Are the temperatures in the new cage within the proper ranges, both ambient and basking? Is the humidity good?

I would move it back to the new cage and put it where you intend to leave it. If it doesn't eat after 5 or 6 then I would worry. Entice it to eat with its favorite foods.

Hope this works for you!

thank you so much for replying to my question. you were the only one with a suggestion. can you tell if it is common for water dragons to get so lethargic during this transition? both the heating and humidty are fine. someone is always checking on it, or misting it. what are your suggestions for different types of foods water dragons like. this one seems to be very picky. crickets are the only favorites.
any help is appreciated.
thanks
