OMG he's adorable. I never saw a baby mud turtle before. I adopted mine as an adult.

Hi, Just found 2 tiny hatchlings-soooo small!. Have wintered hatchling painteds, snappers, and Blandings (for release in the Spring), and breed and rear Russians and Three Toes. Question is-what is the best food to get them started? Am feeding aquatic turtle pellets(soaked and squished till they fall to bottom of tank),and collecting algae from creek while it's still warm weather(teeming with bugs and little snails).Anything else that you can suggest would be a great help-never had babies this small before! Thanx in advance, Jody

I give my hatchlings either broken up reptomin, small cutup minnows or small worms every other day. I feed them in smaller containers so they have no problem seeing the food then when I get home from work I put them back in their bigger tank.
