I cant get my tokay to eat dead pinkies. Im pretty sure he'd eat live ones but I have had enough frozen pinkies to lastt me along time so I havent bought live in awhile and my tokay is kinda slim. Im thinkin of getting some mice for pacmans and IM thinkin maybe I should get mouse for the tokay to help make up for the lost time. Anyody here ever fed their tokay a mouse, can they do it?

Well, my tokay will not eat from forceps. It absolutely will not eat with humans in the room. I have to dump a bunch of crickets into the cage and leave. That's why I buy the crickets in bulk, so I can dump a whole load in the cage, so I can be sure she is eating enough.

OK, let me rephrase it! My tokay will not eat dead things, like a pinky mouse. And so far, I've never had luck feeding her things from forceps because she's very shy. So something has to be moving really fast for him to see it and eat it. Sorry, if you didn't understand!

I would say a mouse would be rather large for even a full grown Tokay. Stick with pinkies. I once tried a rat pinkie and the Tokay had truoble with it resulting in it shredding the pinkie rat and only eating what was left in it's mouth. It's not unusual for a tokay to not eat something that is not alive and moving. A pinkie once every other wek will fatten him up just fine, they should only be used as a snack and not a staple diet. good luck

Don't mice/pinkies harbor parasites?? I would be afraid to feed mine mice.
