New to Rosy Boa's (advice welcome)

pperron Oct 02, 2006 07:26 PM

Hi all,

I have been doing my research online about snakes and I have fallen in love with the rosy boa's. I have visited two local pet stores and have handled several variety. The problem I am having is that alot of these animals seem rather unhealthy. Lethargic, skinny, pale (but not shedding)..ect..ect..ect... can some of you guys recommend some good breeders or online stores? Maybe a good book or two. I live in Michigan if any breeders are from these parts please feel free to e-maol me. Being this will be my first Rosy, I just want a healty animal to start off with. Thanks in advanced and Wish me luck.

God Bless!!!!!

The books all suck, but there is one in the works right now by some really good rosy freaks. It will be quite some time before it comes out tho.
Check out the forum on faunaclassifieds.com as well as this one, but the best rosy site(& forum too) is www.localityrosys.com
Rosyboa.com, rosyboas.com & rosyboas.to should help out with hubandry & links.

I actually have 2 rosys that I want to sell to someone who knows a little about them. I have a 1 yr old san felipe and a 1 yr old catavina, both males. They are both feeding very well on rat pinkies. I am a full time student in graduate school for my masters and also I work part time as a nurse. Right now money and time are fairly strained as I just don't have enough time to take them out and hold them. They are very friendly, I've had them both since they were tiny babies. You can shoot me an email if you are interested.
