What is a good price for a pair of A. capra?
I can't seem to find any 'market value' for them, and am interested in getting a pair. This lady wants me to make an offer but I don't know what to say.

That really depends! If I were selling you my CB they would cost you anywhere from $80-100 for a sexed pair but that would be captive bred young animals.
If you went to the pet shop and got some wild caught that are most likely pretty dehydrated and in need of some intensive TLC you would most likely pay anywhere from $35-$50 per animal depending on the shop.
If you were to order from any of the sources on-line they would cost anywhere from $10-35 each for wild caught imports that are probably dehydrated and on their last legs, can be acclamated but will take some work if you are up for the challange, and shipping will be anywhere from $40-80 depending on who they use. Oh, and with these animals some places can sex them and some can't. Some can tell the species somewhat and some can't. Some can tell condition and some can't.
So, it is really buyer beware!
So, you take it from there based on the animals, their condition and what they are worth to you! If you have seen them or can get photos you should be able to decide what you are willing to pay.
Sorry to not be able to give you a set amount but this is the current market on these guys. It is so varied and in my opinion it does depend on the animal!

Thanks for the cough, it made me realise how my post sounded.
This is why you guys need to tell me when I say something offending.
Rgds
It wasn't offending... The cough was to let you know I am dying for a Nataliea (Nataliae, natalia, whatever). You made it obvious that you could ship some, soooo...
My birhtday is comming up, and a MHD would make a great present from my aunt/brother/other family member. I'm sure someone would be glad to buy me one.
So, cough-cough* is to let you know to reserve me one, most likely an offspring of the ones you import.
Anyway, the whole thing was a joke.

yes I got it, but I needed to get adobe to read it.
never seen it before, thanks!
what is a disclaimer?
Oh, like the "fine print"! Safety door, last chance exit, if it doesn't happen you are covered!
I realize that you can't just promise to send dragons out. Hey, if it could happen that would be wonderful. There are also the issues of shipping across the border. I would love to work with some of the less common species. But you also have to understand that I waited 8 years just to find out my capra probably aren't capra! And waited 5 years to have my first armata just to watch them fail in my care. Then another small group that I lost, a bunch of money down the drain, and finally this beautiful group that I have now after 6 years of working with MHDs. I didn't have my coronata variants until 5 years into my work either.
I give you a lot of credit for my armata looking so great too. The really turned around when I added the light inside the viv.
I have been patient in aquiring the 3 species that I have now. I have to admit that I am quite envious of your ability to work with so many wonderful species but have to be realistic in that I am working outside of my home 6 days a week and 8 hours a day. If I get the lease on the building I am looking at I will have double the space and will have to be open 7 days a week. On the plus side I may have a room at the shop where I can have my reptiles there with me! I would love to be able to check on them while I am at work. Then I might be able to manage more cages.
By the way, I put the second basking light in with the gravid armata last night and low and behold, the more gravid female, the one where you can see such defined lumps in her sides, was soaking again this morning and this evening she was on the ground under the edge of the lower light. The other gravid female was under the light that is over the branch on the other side midway up. Previously she had been up in the top. So, they are really using those lights now!
I am just hoping that she isn't past her due date. It is so hard to know. I have no vets so I am, as always, on my own here. I have seen no digging activity so I am trying my darndest to be patient. She does return to the branches at night to roost. She looks good, color is good. In fact she is the most beautiful I have ever seen her. She has beautiful rose colored patches scattered over her and on her face. She has the dark squiggles below her eyes almost like the markings on the coronata but not all the way to the mouth. She has never been that colorful but is almost regal looking right now. Must be the maternal glow!
I will try to post pictures soon.

Hahaha I like that, being covered every way, seems like second nature to me!
However your forgetting one important point, iv been importing , exporting reptiles longer then you have kept them, so I say the odds are favourable.
Now about my understanding, I really should email this, do you really think I have it all on a silver plate?
I no the frustration of applying for documents and waiting 1-2-3 years for them, then your exporter can’t find your specie before expiration. Or worst they arrive dead or dieing.
Some of my animals took me 10 years to obtain, this is why I make it a priority to breed them ASAP. And this is not served on a silver plate either, you must commit to these animals for them to thrive and reproduce, it just don’t happen without work.
Many read me and think I get all those nice species like there fallen off trees, well not quit, it took years to build relations and make contacts in whom I can trust, this means a lot of misfortune and $$$$ lost in the process. So I do understand what you are saying.
cheers
Been there!
