Snow Cali King............

APLAXAR Oct 12, 2006 03:41 PM

i was curious if anyone could give me info on the "snow" cal king? a buddy is buying me one because a corn of mine died while in his care and we wants to make it up to me, now my question is if "snow" is a result of high white, or if it is a form of Amel. like in the corns?

any info would be greatly appreciated

'Snow' morphs in snakes are usually the result of DH Albino x DH Anery. In cali kings, 'Snow' is the term "usually" for DH Albino x DH Melanistic. The breeding would result in patternless albinos basically. And those are referred to as Snows... and also as Blizzards.

I have one. She's nice.

Since you are going for a morph, slap that splendida to it, that might look funky!

Breed it to a albino if you want some albinos het for melanistic... Or breed it to a melanistic to get melanistics het for albino. The melanistics will be jet black or dark brown with faint patterns.

And hybridizing isn't my thing either... Might as well use hybrids as snake food in my opinion.

I agree - well, I don't mind hybdrids, but "pure" snakes are nice to breed.

Anywhoo, by breeding with an albino or hyper, you can produce snakes that will produce more blizards in their second generation.

You may even be able to find a albino het hyper (or reverse) to breed it with, producing some blizards the first mating.

Of course, if you don't want to breed blizards, you can always breed it to a normal to produce double hets, or to a lavender to produce tripple hets.
