Elaphe p. coxi feeding question

toyvet Oct 15, 2006 07:41 PM

Has anyone noticed a slowdown in their Elaphe porphyracea coxi feeding response as fall settles in ? I have one female 6 month old who was a voracious f/t pinkie feeder and has not accepted a meal in 3 weeks...she seems healthy, active, in good body condition. Shed 5 days a ago. Her clutchmates (all males) have continued to feed.
Any help would be appreciated ? Thanks

I have had my male coxi stop feeding sporadically, although it doesn't seem to coincide with the seasons. When he misses a couple of meals I toss in a live fuzzy with a couple of frozens and it has always kick started him right back. It seems that he likes to have a live one every now and then.
