Anyone keep Acanthodactylus?

Tarentola Oct 26, 2006 09:01 PM

I keep a few Acanthodactylus pardalis. Great lizards, they make burrows it the enclosure like crazy, really fun to watch them kick sand everywhere and run around.

I keep 2 in a ten gallon, with a few inches of sand. They eat insects and veggies.

Sold to me as leopard lizards, Ingo was saying the look like Acanthodactylus, they must be, I'm thinking pardalis, but can't be certain.

I'd say it's a Acanthodactylus schmidti or, even more likely, A. scutellatus. They look very nice and healthy - meaning, you keep them well. I'd suggest a bit larger terrarium, though, at least 20-30 gallon.

Good luck
Nino
