germfreesonyman Oct 26, 2006 11:01 PM

I was reading somewhere that instead of buying these Turtle Sulfa Blocks. you can make your own by plaster of paris. That all it is. Put in the oven to dry. I was wondering if anybody else heard of this Thank you..

I've used sulfa block before and almost killed my diamondbacks. I would use a sulfa soak if required. I would use UV sterilizer for sanitation on a continuous basis.

You can't make sulpha blocks that way just calcium blocks. As a far as sulpha blocks go I would not use one. As the other person in this thread mentioned their can be problems with them and using meds. preventatively like this is generally not a good practice. UV sterilizer is the best thing to use.
