A couple more shots...

I went to the photo forum to get some help with taking photos. So I have some improvement on lighting. Not perfect but the colors are a little better represented now. Practice makes perfect.

Yes, they are great pictures and stunning little snakes. How old are they now?

Thanks Jessica, but actually the photos are only better in comparison to the truly awful shots I took previously. There's still too much light but at least the colors aren't burned out as was previously the case. Small steps.

Now as for the snakes I agree with you. The viets are extremely colorful. I believe these guys were hatched in early September. But I would have to check with the breeder to be sure.

Best regards
John

I find it difficult to take really good shots of my snakes, although they've improved since I discovered macro mode! The best ones I've taken tend to be the ones of them eating - at least they stay still enough then...

I can sympathize with you. I'm at the very beginning of learning how to take decent photos of my snakes. The folks over at the photo forum are helpful. As far as getting them to stand still, have you tried using a bowl to quiet them down and then set up the shot before you lift the bowl?

Regards
John

No - that sounds like a good idea. I'll have a go at that next time, and thanks for the tip.

The colors are what drew me to the mandarins in the first place. Thanks for your comment.

Best regards
John
