Safe food items and species selection

Hi, all, I have some questions on the safety of certain food items for watersnakes. I have been doing some reading up watersnakes and there were a couple warnings about feeding worms and amphibians to the snakes because they may harbor parasites, so I was wondering where the best places to pick these items up where there would be a low chance of parasitism? Is a bait shop a good choice? Also I am wondering what would be a good water snake to start out with, I am also curious on the availability of Nerodia Floridana? Is Nerodia Floridana a good choice? Thanks so much for everything and take care. Best of luck!
Sincerely,
Dave

a bait shop would be a good choice for the worms but with amphibians there is almost no safe way to go. mid lands, bandeds, and norther waters are supposed to be some decent starters, most water snakes are very aggressive but with work can calm down.
