Just playing with the camera. I had three clutches of brazilians born this year. Here are some of my favorites. Hope you like the pictures.

This animal is heterozygous for hypomelanism. I think she looks pretty good in her own right.

I love the pitchfork on this guy's head

This is the nicest hypo I've ever produced.

Total surprise. Was not expecting her at all.

Group shot of normal, hypo and anery BRBs

Beautiful animals!

Am I seeing things? The babies I take to be the hypomelanistics look as if they have the normal amount of black pigment and are missing the red pigment. Do they lose black pigment and gain red pigment as they get older?

Took another look at the group shot. I had missed the "anery" in the caption. And with a direct comparison I could tell the hypomelanistics from the anerys and the normals.

Paul, thanks for the compliment.

When I first produced the hypos I thought they were "anerythristic". They had some black pigmentation but seemed to be much less red. As I have come to understand it, BRBs are red because of the way the melanin mixes with other pigments. The reduced melanin reduces the red as well. Does this sound reasonable?

I agree, it's easier to see what's going on when you can look at both anery and hypo together
