? about Cane Toad

assie2071 Nov 07, 2006 09:30 PM

I recently aquired a cane toad from a friend. He is doing well and weighs about a pound. He has been eating crickets and nightcrawlers. Recently though, the last week, he wouldn't eat anything i offered (inculding a pinkie) and today when i came home from work he seemed to have shed and was eating the old skin. I was wondering if this is normal or should i take him to the vet.

Sometimes, when they go thru a shed they don't eat much. Make sure that your temps are correct, especially if you live in the northern areas with the season of winter approaching. I have a heat mat under my two Canes during the winter months.
