Sorry dude, that stinks. I know the sinking feeling you get when something escapes. My baby Florida king escaped when I was like 9, he was gone for 3 days and I found him right next to his cage. :/ So, I dont know how to find him, but dont rule out the space near his cage, he might decide to go home or warm up. Good luck!

Make sure to check by the water heater.

Did you also look behind the refrigerator on the condensor coils? We found our boa behind there before.

Best of luck

Thanks For The Tips Does Anyone know if she would want to go down the stairs because its a 3 story house and she was lost on the top floor im sure she wouldnt go back up but maybe down?

goregrind Nov 28, 2006 05:07 AM

a snake could definety climbs stairs, it would take hours but its possible. they probably wouldnt go up stairs unless something it wanted was up there.

another thing, if you dont find it before you move check stuff you take out of the house then check the empty house, an empty house would be easy searchin

GOOD LUCK

make sure the mouse is near a wall because the snake is more likely to follow walls than go to the center of a room. you could also put snake traps from LLL reptile in each room, the snake will use it as a dark hiding spot and hide in it and will be trapped and safe until you find it

Hey another thing you might try, if you have a dog or cat watch to see what rooms it doesnt go into or avoids. they have alot better noses than us and can tell if a snake is in the room. If you dont have a dog or cat then get a friend to bring theirs over and lead it from room to room and see which it dpoesnt want to enter. Also you should check your clothes and other cloth that might be stuffed into a drawer alot of times theyll get into their.
P.S. ive used the cat trick 4 times to find my snakes when they escaped!

About the cat/dog thing^^. My cats and dogs must be stupid becuase every time I feed they go straight towards the tanks and watch while the snakes snap at them through the glass. Even when I'm not feeding their usually in the same room.

Our cat finds them and plays with them, but luckily doesn't hurt them. She's found 2 escapees for us so far!
