Are alligator snappers easily stressed?

mikesnake Jan 11, 2007 09:24 PM

I have a 4 inch alligator snapper. His enclosure was in a location in my home that had little foot traffic. I just moved him to a place where I could see him more easily and often. Then I was thinking, will the increased foot traffic and me looking at him more often be stressful for him? Thanks for your help.

hello Mike, i guess it would depend on the individual.some will eat out of your hand but some are shy. all in all i'd say they would be shy but most will get use to you so no they're not easily stressed. a hatchling should be treated completely different though.

I don't think you should have a problem (again, unless it's a hatchling).. To be safe, just offer it a couple of hiding spots.
