I've owned several film SLR's over the years and a very cheap p&s kodak 2 mp digital for the past 2 years. After spending hours on dpreview and Steve's digicams reviews and countless hours at several big box stores playing with and picking brains I've taken the plunge and bought the Panasonic/Lumix Dmc fz7. I also posted inquiry messages on several KS forums. I just noticed this forum and am interested in anyone's feedback here. A few fellow herpers steered me to this camera. Mine should arrive in a few more days.

I've got the DMC - FZ5 and I really like it. The only issue I've got with it is flash. Taking close up shots results a semicircle shadow at the bottom of the picture. Other than that, it takes fantastic close ups. I like the zoom feature too.

I'm going to get an SLR before too long, though, so that I can get more versatility in the way of lenses and flashes.
