We're back in business...

I got a reply from the pet store that is 110 miles away. They do still carry the 40g breeder tank. I measured Scooters tank, it's not 2 feet wide it's only 21 inches wide.
If I get him a tank that's 18 wide that's only 3 inches difference, surely he can get used to losing a measly 3 inches in width.
Now that DH sees that the old plastic storage box is starting to cause a plastron problem for Scooter he's ready to go get the new tank.
Can't go for 2 weeks because of other committments but that's it, this time it's for real.. we are going in 2 weeks unless another ice storm hits.

Here it is 4 days before the planned trip to get the tank & the weather is nasty.
It's supposed to be in the 50s & clear on Saturday though so hopefully this time all will go as planned.
It is planned, we have a sitter for the dog, we have recommendations for places to eat while we're there, I bought a city map for (Lubbock that's where the store is) we're all set to go. I've got my fingers crossed!

....are. For many of us (like me) getting an aquarium of any size or dimension is as easy as going to buy a television. Just go to any number of places in town and pick out the one you want.
I can't imagine having to make a day trip for one. This of course, shows that you are a thoughtful keeper.
Now, just make sure you don't crack it on the way home!

Shhhhhhh that's what I've been worrying about all week LOL!!!
Don't jinx me

Thanks for the compliments & I tell ya I am jealous of the fact that you can go buy whatever size tank you want without a hassle...but on the other hand, this is a good excuse to get out of town for the day & goof off so I'm looking forward to that too.
What kills me is where we live the population is about a 1/4 of a million, a little bit larger than Lubbock yet nobody can find a 40breeder? Makes no sense to me at all!

I will post some pics! I just hope it doesn't take me forever to get this done.
Actually I usually clean Scooter's tank on Thursdays but today it doesn't look dirty so I'm going to skip it so that when the new tank gets here I can just set him up in his new home this coming Sunday. Skipping 3 days shouldn't hurt him since I clean him once a week anyway.
