Way too much yellow. Maybe a colored light of some sort.

John, no idea but if i was on jeopardy i would guess a blacklight for 200.
whatever it is it looks cool.
thanks,
Don
One day I was taking photos in the snake room and I wasn't getting enough light. There was a 200 Watt "Active UV" light on a lizard cage nearby so I turned it on the mandarin I was photographing and that picture came out. I'm still trying to figure out if there is any fluorescing going on becuase of the UV or if it is just the camera sensor going out of whack because of the strange spectrum of the light source.
Thanks for your time
John
I saw your post on the photography forum, so I couldn't cheat. Interesting how some turned out. Here's the same snake, same setting, the only difference is fill flash:

And with flash:

It's interesting how the flash brings out the stripes, and makes the snake look a lot shinier than it really is.
I've got a new camera on the way (Canon S3), and it will give me a lot of options over my old 1.6mp Sony Mavica. It's basically as good as they come, without switching to SLR. Hopefully I can figure it out before my trip!

Shane, I noticed that about the stripes. It's almost like it had infrared, or somethin'. Congrats on your new camera. Always exciting when we get new toys, isn't it? Heheh!

Shane:
I'm glad you didn't give it away. I have so few photos worth posting, I can't afford to lose even one good story!
It is amazing what varying light conditions can do to an image.
Yes, a good photographer can perform magic. Every time I look at the great field posts some of you folks turn out I realize:
a) what pathetic herps I'm stuck with in Massachusetts
b) what a pathetic photographer I am.
But you can't have everything. After all I'm already handsome, brilliant and popular with the ladies (well one lady anyway). Too many more great attributes might tempt the fates.
