ok so i have a beaded in a 40 gallon wich im gonna switch to a bigger tank.i usually feed rat hoppers,but i put a mouse so he can hunt but hes too slow,and the mouse gets away how can i help him speed up.also i used to feed quail eggs but now hes too big can i feed chicken eggs.one more hes burrows never hold except with moisture,wich i hear can cause respritory illness.

The solution is to give me the lizard before the live mouse injures it!

eggs bad, live mouse bad, try presenting the mouse with a blindfold on. or just USE a F/T MOUSE.

They primarily eat eggs and baby rodents in the wild. Not much chasing going on there. F/T rodents will work for the life of the lizard.

i just dont want him to get fat,hes eaten frozen thawed all his life,somtimes a chick.

If avoiding a fat reptile is the goal, don't feed it when it's fat.

These lizards can survive months at a time without a meal and do just fine. If your heloderm looks too plump, then let it go a couple of months without food.
