Not Eating, HELP!!

gwarlad Jan 27, 2007 09:50 PM

Hey all,

My little man has gone off his food since coming out've estivation. He eats nothing, and his excrement is looking off . It's been 2 weeks, he's losing weight rapidly and is generally less mobile than normal, which to say the least was never much, heh.

He's still bright-eyed and alert, his skin looks good, but this not-eating phase has me a little worried.

Thanks.

What's the temperature and humidity like in the enclosure?

gwarlad Jan 29, 2007 12:21 PM

Temp is usually 82 during the day, and 72 during the night. Doesn't usually deviate from that.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Try different food items. Mine always go for nightcrawler earthworms.

Heh, nightcrawlers. He doesn't eat them. Very occasionally, I can entice him w/a meal-worm or two, but that's hardly a meal for a growing boy, LOL. Same thing goes for super-worms, wax-worms, etc. Seems that he's decided to favor crickets, and even then it's sometimes a stretch.

I once had a nightcrawler live in his burrow for almost a week w/Dennis, but as much as the worm crawled over him, Dennis wouldn't bother w/it, hardly even bat an eye, lol.

Thanks for the advice, I may try again over the next few days, see if I can get him to eat one.
