Is my dragon male or female?

escapethisall Feb 10, 2007 04:26 PM

ok its 12 inches long now, the crest grew about a 1/3 of the size it was in just two weeks, he has the two bumps by his anus, it has bright blue and peach coloration under its chin, and orange behind the forelegs. does this mean anything? i also see tiny femoral spores (they just look like two dotted lines, i cant see distinguishable ones yet though.)

Impossible to tell without pics.

You should be able to tell around the 18" mark, coloration under the throat and thighs has nothing to do with gender, as our females are brightly colored there as well. The bumps you may be seeing near the vent, could be the wrong side of the vent, as all dragons have this on the one side. Femoral pores will start showing alittle later, give him/her some more time. Females can grow quite the crest too. This is a headshot of my female and her crest
