amount of water

nikke Feb 11, 2007 09:29 AM

I'm was thinking about getting a musk/mud turtle that would be kept outside, but I'm not sure if the water area is deep enough. The length would be around 5 feet, width around 3 feet, but the depth would only be somewhere from 10" to 1 foot. Is that deep enough? If it is how many turtles would be able to go in it? Plus does anyone know of a filter that would be suitable for this kind of water source? Thanks for the help.

Go to home Depot or Lows home improvement center they both sell fish ponds, and filters for all sizes. Your size seems like a nice size. If you live in an area were it get real cold in the winter you might need to have it deeper of get a small heater to keep it from frezzing solid. The a Mush turtle will stay on the bottom most of the time and i bet he will be hard to find.
