Albino Philippine Ratsnake

pinoyhamadryad Feb 15, 2007 05:27 AM

At last, a wild-born albino morph of the Luzon Red-tailed Ratsnake (Elaphe erythrura manilliense) has been documented! The snake, a juvenile, at the time of its capture in San Mateo, Rizal Province, Luzon, Philippines, on August 15, 2006 is under my care at the Department of Herpetology at the Avilon Zoo.

Kamusta kabayan,

I know it's kind of a late entry but CONGRATS! Nice to see some Philippine herps (esp. this awesome find) and also that there are some herp lovers back home in PI. I've heard of your place (Avilon Zoo) so it's definitely on the list for places to visit when I visit PI in the future. Salamat ulit for sharing.
