Help with identification

symposiumcuibono Feb 16, 2007 02:05 PM

Hello, thank you for reading this.

A friend found a hatchling, didn't have time to take care of it, and so gave it to me. I really need to find out the identification. This friend said it was an Eastern box turtle, but I don't think it is.

He was found in northern Georgia (thirty miles north of Atlanta) near a lake, but not in the water.

Your friend is correct. It is a juvenile box turtle.
