Is there a reference for IDing the different ssp of paulsoni? I can't seem to find anything.

paulsoni is a subspecies.....Candoia is genus.

Candoia carinata is a species with C.c.carinata and C.c.paulsoni as subspecies.

So now they are back as a ssp of carinata? What happened to Candoia paulsoni paulsoni, C p mcdowelli, C p rosadoi, C p sadlieri, C p tasmai, and C p vindumi?

That is news to me...do you have a link to the PDF that reviews the taxonomy of Candoia? Sorry, I maybe out-dated...It would make sense to have paulsoni be its own species though.

Thanks,

Chris

Well, the following link shows the Wikipedia taxonomy. Now, I don't put my full trust in it being correct or up to date, but at the same time, it does break down the species.

You have to be careful about what you believe off the internet. Wikipedia is hardly a trust worthy source of info. Just look at their catch phase "Welcome to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit." Notice the words anyone can edit. It may be a good source for some info, but it is not a great source for scientific info.

I have a couple articles (PDF files) but cannot seem to get them onto kingsnake. If you all are interested e-mail me with "Candoia" as the subject and I can e-mail them to you.
