I ran out of mice a week ago and Ive been feeding him superworms, chicken and fruit and fish and veges yesterday so I decided to try cutting up a frozen/thawed med. rat as I have alot of those..Well I cut it into 4 pieces so he wouldnt choke(he did once on a mouse that was too big for him).He ate ALL of it.He is so fat now I think he is going to burst. They wont eat themselves sick will they?

He is just an eating machine..I think tomorrow he gets a salad and fruit only..

I have an adult, well he is almost an adult, and i feed him until he stops eating. He has never gotten sick. I am not an expert, i only have the one male, so do some research, but mine is not obese and he eats something almost every day, and something is offered everyday. Like i said, I have never had a problem, but post what you find, i am now interested if i am doing it right.

WOW that must have been a sight. I feed mine day old chicks and whole med. rats. He has never choked but has always liked to tear his meals apart and eat them piece by piece and lick up anything left. Mine also eats its full but i do not feed it everyday. I only feed him about twice a week. How long does it take your tegu to digest the entire meal? Also what kind of tegu do you have?
