New To Tokays!

tumtum03 Feb 25, 2007 04:17 PM

Hey out there, I'm excited to say that I will have two CBB tokays coming to me this week or next from Cliff. Though I have owned many different types of geckos and animals these are my first tokays. I guess I should say let the pain begin: ) I have always been fasinated by these guys but never had room for them in my collection. Well now that I have sold about half of my crested collection I finally have room. I'll post pics as soon as they get here.

Tokay's are great. As long as you play with them they wont be mean just start as soon as you can. When they are small they hurt about as bad as a crested baby. . . so they dont lol. Prolly wont find alot of help here thow for some reason this forum is dead and there is about 2 people it seems that actually post here. Dont mean to offend anyone but its true and you all know it. This place could be alot of help and fun just dont seem like alot of people care for tokays much. There are 2 books I've round on them, one you can get off of Beans Farm, and the other I found on Booksamillion. Good luck with them. . who are you getting them off of anyway?

I'm getting them off Cliff Flock. He has some great looking tokays. The two I'm getting off him have great color and look nice and healthy. They are about 6 months old I want to say he told me. I'm gonna mess with them all the time. I'm not worried about pain. I bred parrots also, no lizard bite is gonna faze me the way a parrot bite hurts. I'm not saying that their bites don't hurt but I'm use to getting bit on a regular basis by my birds. I already have the enclosure and everything set up. I'll post pics as soon as I get them. I know what you mean about this. I use to be on kingsnake all the time but when I use to write comments and never got any feedback I pretty much left. I go to geckosunlimited and repashyforums now. Their are a ton of people on there and they are very informative on all the different species of gecko out there.

I talk to Cliff all the time and yeah hes got some really nice animals. My girlfriend wants some birds but I hate getin bit by the damned things. The only bird I want is a African Grey. . she wants alot of them. . . I said I'll just stick with my lizards and snakes lol I'd take a bite from a snake anyday against a bite from a bird. Good luck with them.

On the new tokay kids I do not have any, but will one day. They do facinate me,my husband lived in thailand as a kid and used to hear them call, as well as having them just drop down near him and scare the heck out of him ( in a COOL way) LOL

Hope ya post some pics for us, I waited but have not seen any ???

sorry guys took the pics never uploaded. This little girl or at least I'm hoping is 22 grams and very fiesty. I plan on taming her if at all possible, or at least having a lot of bite marks if I don't. Let me know what you guys think.
