New enclosure idea..

seductivereptile Feb 25, 2007 10:11 PM

I have been trying to figure out a way for my frilled dragon and aussie water dragons to have a permanant home that looked good and didn't cost me a fortune.
I found this at Home Depot online. The finished dimentions are 50.78"x27.95"x65" which I though sounded perfect for my frilled dragon or aussie water dragons. Its polycarb plastic and has sliding doors, cool vents too. I just wanted to get your opinions on it. The best thing is the price, less than 300.00. Awesome!

Nice find. Does the enclosure have a back though? The picture doesnt seem to show that metal rim going all the way around the base. I'm just wondering how it will accomodate substrate or water.

We build something similar uing lexan and aluminum framing. It is 7 foot high, 8 foot wide, and four foot deep. For water we put a hard shell pond liner with a filter and fountain. It works great.

The only issue might be snout rubbing since the walls are transparent. This was not a big issue for us for some reason.

300 dollars is a heckuva lot cheaper than the one we built. Looks like a great deal to me.
