Can the water "dish" be too big?

Spartan Feb 26, 2007 09:51 PM

I just got my Water Dragon. She's about 5 inches SLV (pretty small!). She's in a 40 gallon reptile tank, kind of big for her now, but I'm most worried about the water. I'm using a cat litter box. I don't think she can touch the ground with her front feet when I fill it all the way. She swam nicely and got out okay, but is it possible to be too deep? As long as she can get out, should any depth be okay?

I usually only make the water deep enough that the dragons can touch the bottom with their toes. You could always put a rock in the water for the dragon to climb up on or a branch that slopes from the bottom of the water container up over the edge so it can climb out for sure.
