Blue eyed blonde genetics

sean1976 Mar 04, 2007 06:09 PM

Is blue eyed blonde a genetic trait that can be passed on through breedings to non blue eyed blonde stock or is it a color phase that you pretty much have to keep breeding back to in order to keep the appearance?

I ask because while I think they look nice I probably would not include them in a breeding plan unless I could breed them to non blonde stock and have the offspring be able to produce blondes.

i know the gene is not compatible with other forms of hypo or lavender... but i do think that you can produce hets. by out crossing.

hope that helps.
