Yellow Cape Cobra

Sighthunter Mar 09, 2007 09:42 AM

Since I am new to this forum I guess I should start by saying hellow. Hellow. My question may be an old one to you all and there is a possibility that if I scroll down I will find what I am looking for but here is my question/questions. Are there any Yellow Cape Cobras anywhere in US or European collections? If the answer is no how hard would they be to import from Africa?

Adult canary yellows are very hard to find. A friend had one that sold for $3000. They are also not a breedable trait so you could get a pair and come out with all normal cape. It sucks because I too would love to have some of these in my collection.

Is the yellow a morph? I was under the impression that it was a locality issue or a morph trait that showed up in some populations in certain areas. I would be interested in tracking some down none the less. Thank you for taking the time to post in regard to my querry.......Bill

From what I understand its a rare trait that has not been proven to be genetic. It just kind of happens every once in a while. I actually asked this question a while back and could not get a straight answer. I know Glades Herp had 1 years back so you might want to call them.

I have a trade pending for an adult cb pair. I understand that they can change color for up to a year, so get one at least a year old if you want to be sure it will retain the yellow.

By the way Bill, Allan Garry says "hi".
