I just put some scotch moss in my RETF tank. It looks great, but is not actually a moss. Does any one know if it is toxic? I like it, but the health of my frogs is most important.

scotch or irish moss are generally sold to plant along pathways, sometimes thay are referred to as stepables. i have used scotch moss in salamander tanks, where they come into direct contact with it and have had no problem. to my knowledge the plant does not excrete any toxins or residues that would be harmful to your amphibs.
Thanks, I knew the scotch moss was hardy, thats why I like it, real moss has not done very well in my terrarium and is hard to get here in the arizona desert. Are there other ground cover plants that I should play with?
if you are looking for a "soft" plant than what you have is one of the best. baby teir is another, it has small green leaves and is soft to the touch. i have seen entire 12' x 6' tables grown over by a few baby teir plants.
"harder" plants, that make good ground cover, creeping pepermonia/ charlie/ jenny/ fig, english and other ivys, heartleaf philodendron
